Simple styling for your family photography session

Alright, friends.   Today is the start of my busiest season!  September-November are always packed with family sessions and I just can’t wait to meet each and every one of you who is on my calendar this year!

I love helping families choose what to wear for their sessions, and I decided to see how simple I can make it for you!  In this post, I have put together three examples of outfits that work well for family photography sessions.  The best part?  Each collection comes from only ONE store, and they are all extremely budget friendly.

For these collections, I used the advice that I often give to my clients: Start with you, the mom.  Find something that is comfortable and makes you feel beautiful.  If you feel confident, it will absolutely show in your images.  Next, use the colors from your outfit to choose pieces for the rest of the family.  Since it is almost September (but still a thousand degrees in Oklahoma), I chose outfits that cross the divide of Summer and Fall.  This also works nicely since you will be displaying the images in your home year-round!

Collection #1: H&M

I hope this helps simplify the process as you decide what to wear for your session.  It doesn’t have to be difficult!  No “matching” required.  Simply find pieces you love that fit well and complement each other.  If you are a client of mine and would like for me to put together an inspiration board just for your family, I would be happy to do so!  Email me any time.
